How to Map Your Website Pages to Google Business Profile Services

A simple workflow for turning your sitemap into a clean list of GBP services — and why every service page should belong to exactly one category.

Google Business Profile lets you list the services you offer under each of your business categories. When those services mirror the service pages on your website, Google gets a consistent picture of what you do — and you give every page a clear place in your local SEO strategy.

1. Start from your sitemap

Your XML sitemap is the most reliable list of the pages you want found. Export it, remove blog posts and utility pages, and keep the service and landing pages.

2. Match each page to one category

Every service page should sit under exactly one GBP category. Pages that fit nowhere are a signal: either the category set is incomplete or the page targets something you don’t really sell.

3. Name services the way customers search

Use the page’s main keyword as the service name, keep it short, and avoid stuffing locations into it.

A quick checklist

  1. Collect service URLs from the sitemap
  2. Assign one GBP category per page
  3. Fix or remove pages that don’t fit
  4. Add the services to your profile and keep them in sync when pages change
